This year on Election day, I thought I would be smart and vote while Addi was in school. Little did I know that drama would ensue shortly after she got home when she realized that sister went with me to vote and she didn't get to come. I am putting it in writing right now for all of you to witness. Addi is coming with me in 2016 to vote for the next POTUS.
Anyway, our voting center is right next to a park. We couldn't rightly just walk by the park without stopping and playing for a bit. Paige is in this new phase where she has started to playing pretends. My favorite thing that day was when she would get up to the top on the other side of the rockwall and pretened that she was a princess in need of being saved. I love this girl so much!

Happy Birthday Paigie Paige
My sweet little Paigie Paige turned two, nearly three months ago and I am just getting around to writing this post. Oops!
Paige is such a sweet, yet naughty girl! She loves to give loves, tell us "I la lou", and give kisses. She is SO good at giving kisses. I like to show her all of my owies, just so I can get kisses! Yet, at the same time, she is so dang naughty! She is constantly getiing into things she shouldn't. Climbing on things she shouldn't. (Hello stair banister or refrigerator door!) One day, I was in the shower and Addi was "in charge" of watching her sister. Addi comes screaming into the bathroom, hysterical, telling me that her sister is on the counter. I kindly asked her to get Paige off of the counter. Addi tells me all frantic like "Mom! She's throwing knives at me!" Sure enough, I run out of the shower, soap all over my body, shaving cream on my legs, to Paige on the counter. She was throwing paring knives at Addi as though Addi were a dart board. My life would be so boring without Paige! She definitely keeps me on my toes.
Paige is completely different than Addi. Which throws me for a loop sometimes. In some areas where Addi is so curious and wanting to know all about everything, Paige could care less. But in other things, Paige wants to know it all, or be included in whatever is going on, and Addi could care less.
Paige loves her sister. She lives and dies by Addi. She wants to do almost everything Addi is doing. Paige wants to go on the bus with Addi, nearly every day. I think she thinks that all Addi does is ride the bus all day. Paige loves getting her hair done, her nails painted, taking warm tubbies. And she loves everything girly. She is so rough and tumble, but so very much girly at the same time. I didn't think we could have a girl that loved pink and princess more than her sister, but I was wrong! Randy and I think Paige is going to ask for her ears pierced WAY before Addi does. She loves earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Pretty much, if it is girly, she wants it!
Paige is talking so well. Sometimes, it blows me away the words that come out of her mouth. She is definitely the kid that I have to watch my language around. She ALWAYS copies the naughty words I say.
I could just go on and on with how much I love this girl. I am so truly happy that we have her!

Who's Excited?
Addi had a little bit of a tummy ache, so she decided she needed a warm tubby to help make her feel better. Apparently, Paige felt that she needed a tubby as well!

Post Tubby Picnic
I had to bribe my eldest daughter to get in the tubby tonight. I told her that she and sister could have an after tubby time picnic that included mini marshmallows and iced circus cookies. Who wouldn't be happy when sugar is provided right before bedtime??? - Oh yea, the mom!
Look at Paige's smile. She was in H-E-A-V-E-N Happy kids, happy mom!
Just don't get too concerned with my parenting skills. Neither ate all of their treats and were both quickly in bed and asleep.

Boxes!!!
I am still scratching my head at my own silliness. I don't know why I buy my children toys, when they clearly would rather play with the box they came in. These little boxes have kept these little girls occupied for many, many, hours. My brilliant idea is when Christmas time rolls around. Santa will bring Mommy gifts and the girls will get the boxes. I see this as a win-win situation. What do you, my dear readers think? Will the little munchkins fall for that?
Don't you just love this little stinker? She wants to be just like her big sister. Whatever big sister can do, she thinks she can too!
I thought Addi did a fantastic job decorating her box. She made sure to include her family, some friends, and of course, her Papa's sailboat.
There is even a scene on one of her flaps that has Randy and I going out on a date in our church clothes. Where are we going you ask? To Chili's Bar and Grill via a waiting taxi. (??? - it's her imagination!)

Utter Defiance, I Tell You!
Paige is how we like to describe her at our house as “utterly defiant”. She is so stubborn and headstrong. Once she has made up her mind, there is usually no way to change it. A person can try, but generally, Paige will demand it be her way or the highway. This definitely goes for food and feeding herself. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT try and give her a half a cookie when she knows darn well that there is a whole one somewhere. And DO NOT try to feed her like a baby. The wrath of vengeance that will reign down upon you if you try will be great. I promise! (We were getting ready for a baptism one Saturday morning. Paige was dressed. Her hair was done nicely. She was starving. We looked in the fridge and she started pointing at the yogurt. I thought "sure, why not?" Then I proceeded to feed Paige (like a baby, apparently) and she did not like it. Not one little bit. She thought she needed to feed herself. When her mother (me) told her that wasn't likely to happen, she then proceeded to throw a fit and would not eat. Paige would have rather starved than have me feed her.) Defiant!!!
This is generally what it looks like at our house when Paige feeds herself.
(In this instance, she's trying to feed herself yogurt.)
I love her and love that she tries to be so very hard to be independent and grown up, but at the same time, I’d really like her to just stay my baby! Is that too much to ask for?

My Little Princess
I absolutely, positively, catagorically, conclusivley, indisputably LOVE this little lady! She is so amazing, smart, AND kind! I could not have asked for a better big sister to her little sister. She is an awesome helper and is (almost) always willing to help me out with whatever I need her to do. I am beyond thrilled that she is a part of my family FOREVER!!!
I love you, my little Princess!!!
I may be a little biased, but isn’t she beautiful?

We {Heart} You!
We {heart} you!!!
Addison has wanted her hair heart shaped for a while now. I finally had a friend show me how to do it {thanks Briar!} and it turned out great! It is now the most popular hairstyle in our house.

Appendicitis
Graphic photos below, so look at your own risk!
A couple of weeks ago, I was able to enjoy a little mini-vaca. Okay, to say that I enjoyed it is a stretch. It is even more of a stretch to think it was a mini-vaca. There was nothing enjoyable or relaxing about being rushed to the ER with massive stomach cramps, only to find out (after sitting in the emergency room for an hour and a half) to find out that I need to have surgery that night because I have acute appendicitis.
Okay, truth betold, they told me that I was suffering from a mild appendicitis while I was waiting to be taken back for surgery. It was only after my surgery that they said that it was more acute than they thought and that it was a good thing I came in when I did. Apparently, the appendix is roughly three-quarters of an inch to an inch long. Mine was nearly 6 inches, inflammed and resting on top of my bladder. (You don't want to know how I know about that bladder part. Let's just say that there was some post-op uncomfortability.)
Randy was a huge help during the recovery process. Not only did he keep my Junior Mint craving fully stocked, but he is really the best daddy to our little girls. I thought that by the time I was up and moving around, Paige and Addison would forget who I was. They had so much fun with daddy that, I believe, they secretly hoped I would be on bedrest for longer than I was.
While I was in the hospital recovery my belly button was hurting so bad and at one point after taking a stroll around the hospital floor, I thought I had popped at "stitch". The nurses and doctor kept reassuring me that my "stitches" were fine. Boy was I surprised when I took my bandages off at home to find these little babies in my abdomen. Honestly, I gagged a little. I had Frankenstein's stomach! Haha! Let's just say you won't find me in a bikini anytime soon!
It has been two weeks since my little "mini-vaca" and I am still sore, but I am trying to stay positive with the knowledge that I will never, ever, EVER have to deal with my appendix again!
I want to thank every one for their well wishes, help, and nightly meals for making this recovery easier. It is nice knowing that I can count on people in mine and my family's time of need. THANK YOU!!!
(Again, sorry about the graphic images. They are on here more for me than they are for you!)

Something New
Addi asked for something “new” to eat. When asked what that “new” food might be, she said she wanted French toast. Her daddy and I happily obliged her. (It isn’t something we make too often in our home since it isn’t something she’s liked eating in the past. And no, it wasn’t technically a “new” food since she’s eaten it before.) Addi ate her French toast okay. I can’t exactly say that she loved it, but she ate enough to warrent her a glass of chocolate milk. :)

Silly Girl
My sweet little Paigey Paige thought she was so darn funny climbing into my bed. She couldn’t keep from laughing at herself. I couldn’t keep from smiling at her sweet smile (behind that binkie)!

Bathtime fun!
As I was putting dirty clothes in the laundry, I hear "Mom! Mom! Mom! You gotta see this!" from the bathroom. Apparently Addison was doing Paige's hair.
I love that these girls love each other!

New Blog Rant
I have debated for quite a while now about doing this blog. I have a love/hate feeling for blogs. I feel that blogs that are used for personal use are just that, personal. I hardly will ever look at someones personal blog and not leave a comment. I feel to do so is a little like voyeurism. That person is allowing you a glimpse into their life and you don't even have the audacity to leave a comment. To me, that is like walking into someones home, snooping in their cupboards and closets and walking out without even saying hello. Most of the time, the posts that I post are personal to me and my family. They are little snippets of our lives (mostly my children's lives). I may not be the most eloquent or witty with words, but if you choose to look at this blog, I would ask that you please leave a comment as I would like to know who is looking in my cupboards and closets.
Sincerely,
Jen
